Conflict Minerals Policy
KS Tooling is committed to sourcing components and materials from companies that share our values with regard to human rights, ethics and environmental responsibility.
On July 21, 2010, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act became law. The Dodd-Frank Act and related U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission rules require certain companies to disclose the extent to which the products they manufacture or contract to manufacture contain “conflict minerals” sourced from mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries. Conflict minerals include tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold.
Though we do not typically manufacture products of our own design, we do manufacture products that contain conflict minerals which are specified or required by a customer. KS Tooling does not and will not knowingly purchase materials or products that contain conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the DRC or adjoining countries.
Each KS Tooling supplier is expected to provide completed Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition/Global e-Sustainability Initiative (EICC/GeSI) declarations which include documenting countries of origin for their tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold. KS Tooling requires all applicable suppliers to support this initiative and to make information on the origin of their materials and products easily accessible. In addition to this initiative, KS Tooling is committed to review this with suppliers on an annual basis and requires all Suppliers to inform us immediately of any changes at time of occurrence.
